Richard Briscoe, Ph.D.

wpe13.gif (5530 bytes) Dr. Richard Briscoe is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Child and Family Studies at the Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute at the University of South Florida. He completed his undergraduate studies in psychology at Florida A &b M University and obtained his Masters and Ph.D. degrees in School and Community Psychology from Florida State University. Dr. Briscoe conducts research, training, and dissemination activities about mental health issues involving children from pre-kindergarten through adolescence, and is particularly focused on identifying the strengths of African American families. He is a recognized spokesperson for minority mental health concerns and is the recent recipient of the Kente Award given by the University of South Florida for his commitment to the community.
