2002 Annual Success Summit and Jazz Benefit
was a great success!!!
AASF held its Annual Success Summit and Jazz Benefit on November 9, 2002 in South Florida.
SUCCESS SUMMIT
Featured the 2000 Recipient of the Lydia Donaldson Tutt-Jones Memorial Award, Ms. Zena Mello, doctoral student in Human Development and Family Studies at Pennsylvania State University. Her presentation is titled The Relationship Between Future Orientation and Academic Achievement Among African American Adolescents.
Joined in additional panel discussion by Dr. Richard Briscoe, Professor, University of South Florida, Mr. Alfred Campbell, Assistant Regional Director, Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, Myrielle Smith-Johnson, Esq., Jack & Jill of America, Inc., and Dr. Dorothy Holmes, President, South Florida Chapter of the Association of Black Psychologists, and moderated by Mr. Richard Adams, Assistant Dean, Community College of Allegheny County, PA.
Participants also shared in the excitement of learning that a new organization, Women and Welfare, has been formed as a result of networking at the 2001 Success Summit.
