Local celebrities usually become famous through something that happened in their community, city, state or country. For instance, if there is an annual event in a city or town, this will attract a large number of tourists, local celebrities and so on, which then leads to local celebrities being famous throughout the world, with their own fan clubs, personal websites and so on.
While a local celebrity may have thousands of loyal fans, the fame of a celebrity worldwide is impossible without millions of fans and followers.
