Lydia Donaldson Tutt-Jones Memorial Research Grant Recipient

Brandy Gatlin was awarded the African American Success Foundation Lydia Donaldson Tutt-Jones Memorial Research Grant in 2012 in support of her research titled Overcoming Obstacles: A Study of African American Students with Disabilities Achieving Academic Success. while she pursuing a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Special Education at Florida State University. Her research was designed to “…examine the beliefs, attitudes, and practices of highly academically achieving African American high school students with disabilities along with the parents and teachers of these students.”
